Synopsis: I, Detective Maria Moreno, was requested by the Major Crimes Bureau to assist with an exhumation/recovery of a person who was killed in November 2023. When I arrived at the scene, I saw a highly decomposed, completely skeletonized body of a male with what looked like two gunshots to the head at point-blank range with two unidentified objects (assumed to be bullet fragments) lodged within the skull.
The remains had hair follicles on the skull while the dental composition was left intact. No casings or weapons were found. The decomposing clothes of the victim were also recovered at the scene.
