Delphina Lovencia, 21. Born in Italy with mixed heritage of Italian and Colombian. Delphina had a loving family who supported her throughout her development stages. The family was very well to do with her mum being a fiance director in one of the fortune 500 companies and dad having a equity firm of his own.
It would have been a typical story full of familial love when things took a turn. At age 19, Delphina's mom and dad were involved in a motorcycle crash with a drunk driver which caused fatal injuries to her mom who sadly passed on before the paramedics could arrive. Dad was in a daze weeks after the incident and after the feeling of losing his life partner had sunk in, he became a very angry man. Constantly coming home drunk and soon, because of his negligence within his corporation, he received a vote of no confidence and was ultimately stripped of his position and title. This turn of events made Delphina's dad dive head first into a uncontrollable spiral of self destruction. Delphina knew she had two choices, either stay with her dad and hope he snaps out of his state of turmoil or leave. It was fight or flight.
It was a painful decision to make, Delphina left for better pastures after having consolidated the funds left from her mom and went off to Vice City. Being a foreigner, she had difficulty transitioning to the new environment and cultures of society. Delphina found a landlord who rented small apartments to bachelors and she arranged an interview shortly after. The landlord took sympathy in Delphina's past and decided to lease one of his many apartments to her so she can have a proper roof over her head.
Delphina's actions would not have been forgotten by her and she felt an immense surge of guilt for leaving her father to his own devices. She remembered the countless yelling and the beatings she received. Nevertheless, the thoughts of 'what if's' kept flowing through her mind and she started to realised how much she hated the drunk driver. If not for him, she would still have had her family intact. Delphina realised she could not live in the world of what if's and decided to do something instead of simmering in a world of guilt. Whilst job hunting on the internet, she stumbled onto an ad for the police department. They were looking for new cadets and she decided to apply.
Supposing it was that easy, Delphina would have been enlisted as a police officer had a successful career of catching criminals. That was not the case, her application for law enforcement would be denied as she was a foreigner who has no prior experience and the department would not invest the time and effort on Delphina.
The savings left by her mum were slowly dwindling and Delphina knew she had to do something, things were starting to get desperate. Luckily by some miracle, her landlord had his suspicions on her employment status and decided to take her under his wing as a secretary. Things were going well and because the two work very closely with each other, their status were also starting to change.... They decided to keep it a secret as it would cause uncouth rumors to be spread around in the office.
The relationship started to become bolder as they got more comfortable and careless. Forms of media would be leaked from a source and it became viral on the internet. The couple was shamed and Delphina tried to endure to attacks in hopes that everything would disappear. It only became worse and the name callings were more personal and by some slim chance, her apartment address was leaked to the public. Delphina felt very vulnerable and scared of this development.
One Wednesday night, on impulse, Delphina packed her belongings and left for the state of Los Santos after reading an article that one could have a new beginning. Full of hope, she was on the next flight out and journeyed her way to her possibly, new home. She wishes for nothing but stability and peace. Delphina knows it would be difficult but she has faith that everything will fall into place.
