The Medical Examiner-Coroner's Department is releasing its annual report on deaths for the year 2022. A total of 5313 deaths were reported to the department during this time.
The leading cause of death was homicide, with 4250 deaths in total.
The Medical Examiner-Coroner's Department is committed to understanding and addressing the various factors that contribute to mortality in our community. We will continue to work with law enforcement, healthcare providers, and other agencies to investigate and understand the causes of death and to identify any trends or patterns.
